Become a conservation volunteer

Are you passionate about the environment and want to make a difference? Consider volunteering with us at Sholing Valleys! We're a dedicated group of volunteers committed to conserving Millers Pond Local Nature Reserve and educating the community about its importance.

We post all of our events on our facebook page. Or you can sign-up to our mailing list to keep up-to-date.

Everything we do is guided by our 10 year Management Plans. These are written by expert ecologists, and agreed and signed off by Southampton City Council. You can read the Plan here

Conservation volunteering is an incredibly rewarding experience that allows you to make a tangible difference in your community. By volunteering with us, you'll have the opportunity to take part in a variety of activities that contribute to the preservation of this beautiful and important natural space.

Our activities vary throughout the year and include everything from planting trees and wildflowers to clearing paths and removing invasive species. By participating in these activities, you'll not only make a positive impact on the environment but also have the chance to learn new skills and meet new people. We have run training for hedge laying with professionals from Sparsholt College, and are looking to run survey training, scything and more hedge laying sessions in the future,

At Sholing Valleys, we believe that everyone has something to contribute, regardless of their experience level. Our group is welcoming and supportive, and we provide all the necessary training and equipment for each activity. Whether you're a seasoned conservationist or just starting out, there's a place for you on our team.

So why not get involved in conservation volunteering today? Simply come along to one of our conservation volunteering days or get in touch for more information. Together, we can make a difference in preserving our natural world for generations to come.
